Acne Resort 2012 Collection
The Acne Resort 2012 collection “blends romanticism with Acne’s downtown jeans DNA” (NBC). The simplicity in layering and the Mulholland Drive theme create an urban chic collection fit for women of many ages (minus the denim skirt for ladies over 15).
According to Creative Director Jonny Johansson, “Every season I take a different approach. I had this Mulholland Drive theme laying around. It’s not about that, but I started with the feeling of that, which also influenced the show’s set.”
The Swedish brand showed boxy jackets, a-line dresses, and pencil skirts in suede, taffeta, and denim. While the fashion word appreciates layering, it is unclear how the layered pants and skirts will translate to the streets — if they ever do…
