Celebrity Profile: Angela Simmons
Pastry is no longer a six letter word that you overindulge on and get fat — it is now synonymous with Angela and Vanessa Simmons. Both young women are the daughters of hip-hop guru Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons and the niece of Russell Simmons, starring in the reality television show Run’s House.
Angela Simmons is breaking out to RUN her own house now: a house of fashion. Baked up in 2007, “Pastry allows young girls to express themselves with unique looks. Starting out in the lifestyle footwear arena, today Pastry has blossomed into a full lifestyle brand.” The first collection of Pastry Sneakers, called Cake, comprises Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Mousse, Sprinkles, and Red Velvet which all literally look like scrumptious cakes. Today, the global brand is distributed in over 15 countries but the Simmons duo’s passion and involvement is why Pastry remains “Sweet, Chic and Unique”.
While Angela Simmons remains loyal to her original fashion expression, Pastry, the beautiful, exuberant young woman is stepping out of her famous family’s spotlight and ready to shine on her own. Will she appear in reality TV again? Design a solo collection? Make her way into the music scene? Or… could she end up somewhere on the pages of Fashion News Live? Only time will tell.
